Woodstock, also know n as "An Aquarian Exposition: 3 Days of Peace and Music" was a music festival where millions gathered to hear the great musicians of the time perform. It took place near the Catskills on Max Yasgur's 600 acre dairy farm. The festival went on three days from August 15th to 18th, 1969. During the three days there were thirty two acts and an crowd of 400,000 people. Most of the audience were young people, lots of hippies. The event was regarded as a pivotal event in popular music history, given the magnitude of the event and the performers.
